What bands is this? (Song 1: Battlefield / Song 2: Midas Touch)

I have got some mails over the time with people asking for help to name the title/band of songs they have heard long way back. I think this thread could be a good help to all of you who have the same problem and together we may help each other!. Feel free to fill in with your own requests!.

I start with this mail I got recently:
I have a few recordings of The Friday Rock Show presented by the late Tommy Vance which was broadcast every friday night at 10.00pm, I have ripped these dusty cassettes into mp3 format and have 2 bands that i dont know who they are? i named both tracks after the subject of the songs for easiness, The first track i titled 'Battlefield' from what i remember is part of a radio session recorded especially for the Friday Rock show, broadcast around '87? They were an unsigned band and i think they are English, i have at least another 2 songs from them, they have a great sound and i would love to know who they were and if they finally got signed and released any E.P'S or albums. Unfortunately the other 2 tracks are part missing and a change over of the cassette mid song! bad timing on my part.

The second track is another anonymous band and i have no info to help narrow down thier identity other than this track was played on the same Friday Rock show broadcast from the above mentioned in '87? They sound more American to me but i might be wrong.They werent an unsigned session band thats for sure.
